That's not negative and not a condemnation and maybe it should be.
As favorability goes, though, it's pretty mild and not exactly a ringing endorsement.
Clearly, Trump and McConnell aren't on the same page about most things, but a lot of what you read is published because somebody has an agenda of their own.
Projection.
Jan 6 is looking more and more like a setup. Proof is coming out. If/when Trump gets back in, the dam will burst.
The fedgov knows it. Including the Senate. So they will do literally ANYTHING to prevent Trump from getting back in.
If I’m right, soon there will be calls for any method to “legally” stop him from running. They will try everything. Including filing criminal charges, although we would all still vote for him.
If they assassinate him, I fear it will be open season on anything left. Left wing, that is. Everyone becomes a target, from local to federal, to teachers to media. Even the low level foot soldiers will start getting murdered. Open civil war, with nothing off limits.
Not a prediction, just a fear.

So they will first move to somehow disqualify him from running. Trying everything and the kitchen sink. Including impeachment after the fact. What do they have to lose? That’s their motto.
IF Jan 6th was a setup. And I think it was.
