The Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes has canceled its four shows scheduled to run Friday.
In a press release, MSG Entertainment, which operates Radio City Music Hall, said the shows were canceled due to breakthrough COVID-19 cases in the production.
The company added that "plans for future shows are currently being assessed."
Friday's shows had been scheduled for 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
MSG Entertainment said full refunds will be offered.
The show had come under scrutiny in recent days by indicating it would not enforce a new city policy that children ages 5-11 needed to be vaccinated until Dec. 27. MSG Entertainment announced Thursday that children in that age range will need to provide proof of vaccination, starting with Thursday night's events.
Is there a keyword for all these breakthrough cases?
OH NOES!!!!!! Omicrap spreading like wild fire!!!! What will we do????? Nyquil.
Hey, we don’t know, maybe nobody’s buying tickets. This is easy way out !!
We are suppose to go tomorrow- assuming it isn’t cancelled. Tickets are tough to come by. The week before Christmas is always the busiest.
It is beyond pathetic- omicron is turning out to be the flu, yet these oppressive morons will treat it like the plague.
Since NYC has an indoor mask mandate are the Rockettes required to wear masks ?
I’ll tell you after tomorrow- assuming our show is not cancelled.
The neverending virus seems serious.
BTW the Black Death only lasted a year.
More like 3 - 8 years
Oops
.I meant 3+ years.
Nearly as long as the covid has lasted and almost a deadly.
And they didn’t have Dr fauci to “save” them.
they voted for it...
Ironically just a small % of the Rockettes are actually from NY. I dare say the number who live in NYC is miniscule.
Ridiculous...
This is a disappointment for tourists who love this Christmas show. I live 70 miles from NYC but I won’t go there. The city has gone downhill and is unsafe, IMO.
true, but if they voted RAT at home, well... they are now at the end of the whip
p.s. i’m laughing at all the NYCRAT audience that voted for it having their holiday plans ruined, not so much the ones performing
“We are suppose to go tomorrow”
Did you go ?
Did they cancel ?
They announced last night they cancelled all remaining shows the rest of the year. I spoke with someone who is friends with one of the Rockettes this morning- he told me a bunch of them tested positive- a small number were having cold like symptoms.
Kind of sucks- my wife, who was my girlfriend at the time, starting going in 1997 and went every year except the past two.
