Taxes exist on booze, too.

How come we don’t have cartels running massive illegal hootch operations?

Or is that just called hillbillies?

The alcohol producers can easily compete, they have long-standing popular brands and mass production. Only hideaway hillbillies are interested in moonshine.

Pot is a different story.

I wouldn’t drop my favorite wines for any back-alley producer though I do drink the wonderful basement wines from my relatives when in Italy.

It’s like any product, the axis of price and quality determines popularity.

My wife recently had an annual Medicare wellness exam with a new doctor. The doctor asked, “Do you smoke?” Wife said, “Not tobacco, but I smoke pot.” Doctor said, “Well that’s fine.”
