In a recent interview, billionaire Elon Musk stated that the most serious problem we face as a society is that not enough children are being born.
I can't emphasize this enough. There are not enough people. And I think one of the biggest risks to civilization is the low birthrate and the rapidly declining birthrate.
He's right. The statistics are grim: in 2020, the Centers for Disease Control reported that the U.S. birth rate is plummeting and is the lowest it has been since 1909. The 2020 Census data show that population growth is the slowest since 1930.
Part of the population decline could have been avoided had abortion not wiped out 63 million preborn babies. It's astonishing that people can talk about a demographic shift of the magnitude America is facing without including the tragedy of abortion. It isn't just the 63 million people missing, but their children and the generations after them. That loss is incalculable.
It is finally dawning on politicians that killing off our future generations was not in the best interest of America's future. It is not just America; there is a dire global situation with childbirths below replacement levels in many countries.
Economists know that to have a productive society, you need a young, dynamic, and growing population and workforce to produce goods. Companies need labor. The large Baby Boom population is living longer, and these individuals will require urgent medical care due to normal aging and more because of the Wuhan virus variants coming to the United States. Millennials and the Z generation will face the added burden of financing the $2.7-trillion budget deal. Social Security and Medicare are not solvent, and the retirement age for anyone born after 1960 will now be 67.

It's gotten worse since 2010. In the United States, the fertility rate is about 1.7 births per woman. The BBC News reported that in 1950, "women were having an average of 4.7 children in their lifetime."
The United States data at Macrotrends.net shows that in 1950, the U.S. birthrate was 24.268 births per 1,000 people. The population decline began after 1960, when Enovid, the first birth control pill, was introduced. In 1960, the birthrate dropped to 22.696. By the time abortion laws were first liberalized in 1967, the birthrate continued its decline to 18.308. During the 1960s, there was a push for population control, which is one reason Roe v. Wade was enacted. After 1973, the fertility rates declined at a more rapid pace. Today, there are 12.001 childbirths per 1,000 people.
Population control proponents like Paul Ehrlich warned that overconsumption and a population explosion would deplete our natural resources. When Ehrlich revisited his book The Population Bomb in 2009, he continued to defend abortion and birth control. In a section called "What did The Bomb get wrong?," Ehrlich admitted that the scenarios he presented were not predictions, and many did not pan out.
I have eight. I think elon has six or seven.
Aside from the obvious effects of abortion, allowing the “government” to become too involved in “rearing our children” has to be the next most serious reason for declining childbirths in America. Add to that the effects of feminism, gay/lesbian etc., lifestyles and the cost of raising and educating children, etc., it takes a lot of personal sacrifice to raise a family these days.
Procreation is not high on the list of a culture that has embraced hedonistic decadence. A falling birthrate is a consequence of the selfish, narcissistic behavior and associated physical and mental disease.
If I were newly wed, I would think very hard before having kids — I don’t know what miserable country they will grow up in.

I realize he has around 7 children via about half that many women.
Anyway, it seems that the babies who escape Planned Barrenhood are just considered to be fodder for the public school indoctrination system.
Keep your kids and grandkids out of the public schools. That system is too risky and the children are too mportant!
As soon as Social Security and Medicare is introduced to a nation birth rates plummet. If the government is going to take care of you in old age, why bother to have children?
Abolish those and birthrates will spike.
The lefts solution is bringing the foreign masses over our borders. They have lots of children and even ship them into our country.
The core left cares nothing of solutions or fixes. Their only intent and goal is to establish policies that will destroy traditional American culture, strip it of its prosperity and confidence, and transform what is left into a pliable globalist cog. They can accomplish their goals because those selfish, narcissists that have embraced hedonistic decadence have no clue as to the political consequences of their behavior. They are the large base of the Democratic/Socialist party

See, now that would have the opposite effect on me. The more miserable the country, the more trigger-pullers your family needs.
If one or more of your kids is a real warrior, then jackpot!
Change corrupted divorce law and remove the unconstitutional income tax.
No one who has to get in a car from point A to point B is ever going to find this resonates with them.
There are plenty of people. Problem is we are replacing high functioning people with no so high functioning people.
When you lose a 120 (plus) IQ citizen and replace him or her with 5 80 IQ residents, it's a detriment on the whole.
Unless ofcourse, your plan is for people to own nothing, build nothing and consume cheap, disposable trinkets.
How about stop murdering children and punishing anyone, doctor and woman, if they do murder an unborn child.
Stop offshoring wealth creation and importing replacement 3rd worlders and give young Americans a chance.
Truth.
Better yet, stop the sleeping-around that is behind most abortions, and counsel college educated women that kids are as desirable as careers.
That 1.7 birth rate does NOT apply to the Ghetto.
The quickest way to poverty in this country is to be a single mom with kids.
Until we fix that, our birth rate will not rebound.
If the stats there are accurate, it is from the CDC so who the heck knows, the numbers paint an intetesting picture.
