Research has confirmed that the earth’s temperature has been on a modest cooling trend since 2016. Most of the last 20 years have shown no warming at all, and no discernible trend since the strong El Niño of 1998 ended.

If the Current Warming Period lasts as long as the last two warming periods (Medieval Warm Period and Roman Warm Period), then it'll go back to cooling in 200 or so years. Meanwhile there'll be minor warming and cooling periods within. (Analogous to the moon orbiting the Earth, which itself orbits the sun, which itself orbits the center of the Milky Way galaxy. So you can't predict where the moon's position will be 1,000 years ago unless you first take into account where the Earth will be, which requires knowing where our sun will be.)
I'm with you on the Dims scamming us on the whole global warming thing. I just think it's important that we have all our science down as we educate the masses. The best thing to do is to acknowledge that the Current Warm Trend is real and liable to last centuries, but not kill us all like the Dims say. Far from it. Life during the warming periods are pretty good relative to the cooling periods -- at least the ones we've had since Christ was born. During the cooling periods crop yields go down for centuries, rain is harder to predict (more droughts and droughts lasting longer, followed by harsh rains that do things like destroy grain crops, forcing Europeans to add more root-fruited plants to their diet like potatoes), and plagues are much worse (1/3rd of Europeans died of Bubonic Plague during the recent Little Ice Age a few centuries ago).
That's how climate scientists talked about warming and cooling periods until the 1990's, when the politicians took over "climate science" and somehow brainwashed the public into hating a good era we're living in.

How ironic is it that most liberals believe unequivocally in the evolution of the plant and animal kingdom, yet cower from the fact of an evolving planet.

More carbon = more warmth, more vegetation and thereby more food for an expanding world population. Note that 60% of the potentially arable land on this planet is too cold to farm.
Are we, by interrupting this process condemning our descendants to famine and mass starvation?
