At some point, the virus is going to get in the population of China and infect one billion people. It's only a matter of times. Omicron transmits quickly and its not as virulent. So might as well as roll the dice with this one. But you are right. There's always a variant that we won't be able to predict but I do not see China's zero COVID strategy to be sustainable. Maybe if their economy was as small as it was back in 1985 and they continued to lock down the nation, it might be possible but they are a global economy and they trade with the world and you know that the virus is just a plane trip away.
