A communist nut who at 15 was a member of Civil Air Patrol, a known CIA recruitment vehicle, in a troop headed by a known CIA asset, and then joined the Marines and was given special training by the DIA (according to Kerry Thornley), then given clearance to be stationed at a top radar facility monitoring top secret U2 spy flights, all while telling everyone who would listen that he loved Communism. Then he defected to Russia, married a Russian daughter of a KGB colonel, and was allowed to come back, bringing the Russian woman with him, with only one quick debriefing session and zero follow-up or monitoring by law enforcement.
Sounds kosher to me.
