Manchin is one of those guys who apparently does not like being questioned by anyone - the press or constituents.

I got the opposite impression. He loves being in the limelight and being a ‘decider’ by being a centrist. Leftist media types put him on their shows and constantly argue for the positions further on the left and he responds with his more centrist positions. He’s done quite well with that.
After this one, they just completely dropped the pretense of objectivity and went after him. I’m sure he’ll just wait it out. Not sure if Republicans should take him if he decides to flip, though it would help until the 2022 election.
I don’t know about that. There are enough Republicans in WV to run his ass off, and he knows it.
