Ivermectin is unique in that it has both antiviral and potent anti-inflammatory properties. It’s beneficial at the earliest stage of COVID-19 infection to reduce the total viral load, and also can act against pulmonary inflammation if it develops in the later stage of the disease proportional to the initial viral load.
But after about ten days in the body, the virus is dead anyway, hence the need to use the Ivermectin ASAP otherwise it is a waste of effort.

I personally cannot explain the mechanism of action that makes ivermectin effective long past ‘early days’; however, as an example of its use other than early days, it is the backbone of FLCCC’s protocol for Long Haul COVID-19 Syndrome. This protocol has had “observed profound and sustained clinical results”, including also post-vaccine inflammatory syndromes.

Individual doctors have treated ICU patients with ivermectin with good results (until the hospitals put a stop to it - at least one court case pending by a doctor suing) and patients are generally in ICU at 10 days & beyond. Ivermectin is anti-viral, a zinc ionophore and evidently, anti-inflammatory.
