Leading doctors in Massachusetts are now recommending that residents wear masks in all public indoor spaces regardless of whether they are vaccinated as a growing number of states, but so far not Massachusetts, return to the mask mandates that were ubiquitous earlier in the pandemic.
Dr. Carole Allen, president of the Massachusetts Medical Society, said Tuesday that the growing number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations point to “an alarming upward trend” that is straining the state’s health care system. The Department of Public Health on Monday reported 11,078 new cases from over the weekend, and hospitalizations from the virus climbed to 1,355.
“Masking is a public health measure proven to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Wearing masks while indoors is an effective and appropriate way to slow transmission of the disease, especially with the holiday and cold and flu seasons upon us. We must all work together to take steps to confront and stem what could be a continued rise in cases, hospitalizations, serious illness, and death,” Allen said in a statement.

Politicians are starting to run from COVID. Payback will be fun.
This needs more clarification. Did the virus cause the actual hospitalization or were they admitted for something else and tested positive? How many of those hospitalized were vaccinated? What is the nature of their hospitalization, severity and leathality?
All these questions need to be answered truthfully because there is no longer any trust in what the government or health care "professionals" say.
I’m working in Cambridge (the heart of liberal darkness) and the masking is ridiculous. Matter of fact, come Jan 14, my place of work says that building access will be revoked unless you take the booster. For a university, they really don’t seem to be “following the science”, but rather following the money.
I think I’ll just not get it and tell HR when they call up to verify compliance. So, I guess they’ll either fire me or have me work 100% remote. Either way is fine by me.
How many votes did the Medical Society get in the last elections again?
The jab is working so well, you must the the jab again so you can still get or spread the virus the jab prevents.
This has nothing to do with COVID-19. Wearing the masks just makes their jobs easier during peak cold and flu season.
Payback will be fun.
With extreme prejudice!!!!!
The pandemic has shone that doctors are pretty dumb...the government controls health care..not doctors
Good thing those vaccines work so well, otherwise they might be telling everyone to hold their breath. ;-/
Really? Where's the study? A real study, with a control (unmasked) group, peer reviewed, maybe even duplicated to confirm the research.
These people are just saying things that sound authoritative and informed, but they are literally making it up as they go along. Anything to support the narrative.
This is going to be great for restaurants in NH.
The last time MA was all locked own, Massholes flocked to NH to spend money.
All the hotels were booked on the weekends.
I would add, for those that were hospitalized, did they test positive as CURRENTLY having Covid-19, or did they have antibodies to indicate they might have had it in the past? - AND - are all those who are admitted to the hospital but unvaccinated being counted as positive tests (which I would not put past any government group or hospital group run by a bunch of liberals)?
And don’t forget …. The majority of masks are made in china
“Leading doctors in Massachusetts ...”
And just who has crowned them as “Leading Doctors”? A bunch of Dr, Jills?
How do you question or heroic medical workers who worked day in and day out during the pandemic, risking their lives. Just do what they say, skip Christmas, just one more time, Bow down and worship them until they tell you can go back to living the life you used to.
I question those anointed “leading doctors” of the Mass. Medical Society. Since the anointed ones are pimping masks, which have been determined to be worthless by multiple studies, I question their anointment.
