Perdue’s candidacy ‘a continuation of the coup attempt and insurrection that Trump launched’ (replacing an incumbent is now a 'coup' attempt!)

Let’s say it straight:

Every Georgia Republican who votes for former Sen. David Perdue in next year’s gubernatorial primary is voting to strangle American democracy and replace it with an arrangement in which elections can be overturned on a whim, just because somebody says so. There is no other rationale for Perdue’s candidacy, no other reason for him to have launched a campaign against an incumbent governor of his own party.

That, and to try to placate the implacable Donald Trump.

That incumbent, Brian Kemp, has served for almost 20 years as a Republican state senator, a Republican secretary of state and now as a Republican governor. From a conservative Republican perspective, the only blemish on Kemp’s record in that time, the only plausible reason for a primary challenge, is Kemp’s refusal to take part in Trump’s conspiracy to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia based on false claims of fraud.

Pay no attention to the mapped routes of the busy Georgia Demoscat ballot harvesting bees...

"Well, grow up, people. Santa Claus is a fun little fantasy for children, and Trump lost the election fair and square."

That right there is delusional thinking from someone who believes Biden got 80 million votes.

My family are voting against Kemp. Come low or high water, we are intent on punishing him and those who support him.

All they had to do was not steal an election.

That was the whole point about the Texas lawsuit in December 2020...that rules were changed in battleground states without involvement of the State Legislatures. May be wrong but didn’t the SOS for Georgia enter into a consent decree with Democrats to change the rules?

The Georgia Legislature also made laws regarding observation of vote counting by poll watchers. Republican poll watchers were thrown out (water main break that was a stopped up toilet or leaky faucet or something minor). A violation of Georgia laws.

So even if one believes Biden won Georgia one must conclude that Perdue would be correct in decertification. The election was run in an unconstitutional and unlawful manner.

“Rulers are no more than attorneys, agents, and trus-tees, for the people; and if the cause, the interest and trust, is insidiously betrayed, or wantonly trifled away.

The people have a right to revoke the authority that they themselves have deputed, and to constitute abler and better agents, attorneys, and trustees.” - John Adams

Be it remembred [sic], however, that liberty must at all hazards be supported. We have a right to it, derived from our Maker. But if we had not, our fathers have earned, and bought it for us … but besides this they have a right, an indisputable, unalienable, indefeasible divine right to that most dreaded, and envied kind of knowledge, I mean of the characters and conduct of their rulers.

Rulers are no more than attorneys, agents and trustees for the people; and if the cause, the interest and trust is insidiously betray’d, or wantonly trifled away, the people have a right to revoke the authority, that they themselves have deputed, and to constitute abler and better agents, attorneys and trustees. (Source)

To sum up: people have an inherent right to liberty, and if the government doesn’t fulfill its duty to protect that right, then it should be replaced. Adams basically published the core idea of the most famous paragraph of the Declaration of Independence, a decade before that document was written. He also published a document known as the “Braintree Instructions”, another response to the Stamp Act, in which he defends the idea of “no taxation without representation.”

Jay Bookman is a upper level editor with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. At least he used to be. Haven’t heard his putrid name in a while and I live in this god forsaken city.

Yes. Adams was THE preeminent authority on government and liberty. I’ve written a book based on his writings and have republished his three-volume work.

Let’s set it straight. These Leftists are scared to death of the American People. Scared to death that We The People are no longer buying their Socialist/Communist BS. In ever-increasing numbers.
They know it. They realize it. And they are in a Panic over it. They thought they had us. They thought they were there. They are freaking out realizing they are wrong. And, they are lashing out in their anger and hatred.

Yes you’re right. I’ve noticed more panic the closer we get to an election year.

The primaries will be telling.
