Political party protocol (any party) dictates insisting “why yes, our incumbent will run - and win - again!” In no way can Democrats say “well of course Joe won’t run again (he is mentally debilitated, ratings are in the toilet, and in no shape to stay in office until the end of his term, much less run for re-election).”
