I doubt it.
The more on the inside, the more risk.
More likely: with all the insanity in Chicago, someone saw an opportunity.
Give the all the guards instruction:
Because of the current leadership in Chicago, we have to be especially careful with out use of deadly force.
Only shoot someone if they actually point a weapon at you.
Otherwise, do not provoke a shooting. There are cameras everywhere. We do not want you to go to jail, or the dealership to be sued.
Never, never initiate the use of deadly force, or instigate it.
If you do, we have to throw you to the wolves for violating our safety policy....

A cop or security guard would be in jail if he shot one of these “shoppers”. His family would be attacked. His life completely ruined.
Even if he somehow manages to be fount guilty of murder.
