Let’s play a quick game of “Fire in the East”!
Great game. The finest East Front game in its time if you had the space and the time.

I couldn’t see the draw. It looks like another grindfest like WoW. I played WoW for years and then got addicted to EVE (AKA spreadsheets in space). There are certain aspects to MMOs I miss, but I’m def. a carebear when it comes to gaming choices nowadays.

I played EQ back in the day and have found most MMORPGs all so similar I saw no reason to even play them. The grinds are awful. Been there done that.
This one has some fantastic PVP at the top end, specifically 50 vs 50 wars with capture the flag type events, and the winning faction gets to keep the territories with cool perks.
The grind is not near as bad as other games in that you get credit for everything you do including exploring and travel or whatever your style of playing is. My wife loves to craft and gather etc while I've been mostly questing.
And no subscription.
Cheers!

My (Scout) platoon sgt saw me playing Cassino and invited me to play Fire in the East with he and an E-6 whose name I’ve forgotten.
Back then it was called Drang Nach Osten and Untenscheiden.
A couple of friends and I set the whole set of games up, post-college/Army, in a garage, from Spain to Iraq to the North Cape, including North Africa and played for about a year, to mid-’46, when Moscow fell, lol.
We used to play a lot of games by Jack “Red” Radey too, “Black Sea, Black Death”, “Korsun Pocket”, etc.
The two friends (brothers) live close enough to play regularly, but I’m 1300 miles away, so....

I played a few tactical games but could never time things right, smoke screens would arrive to conceal my
dead assault element for example.

Do adults on our political side play computer games?
Oh, absolutely.
I'm gonna be doing some Far Cry 4 and 5 tonight with a 12-pack of locally brewed IPAs. Good times.

See, if were lawless, we'd burn down EA and vandalize any store that carried their ****.
