The problem goes all the way back to accepting any sexual activity outside of marriage and, yes, contraception within marriage. This removed the purpose and responsibilities of sex, reducing it to the desire for selfish pleasure. Once this is allowed even in marriage there is no logical reason to oppose unrestricted sex in any other area.
