I think it's a case of too many people just couldn't handle being cooped up for so long and also WAY too much alcohol consumption at airport facilities.

What’s the percentage of flights with air-marshals?

This man knows no right or wrong and has no accountability for his actions. Can he be rehabilitated? There is no guarantee that he can. I call him a
social mutation.

Thought I could get in before someone misspelled “air marshal” but you gotta be fast around here.

“Oh, for the days when people dressed up and were on their best behavior while flying.”
My dad flew on business trips in the early to mid 60’s wearing a suit and tie. You were really looked down upon if dressed in just slacks and button up shirt etc.
I think by the end of the 60’s it was helter skelter to what you wore.
on FB there is a picture of a bunch of college girls on a bench in 1962-all prim and proper-virginal looking. Same college in 1968 or 1969, same bench - all hippie women. We fell that fast.

Not that "mask mandates" have anything to do with it. You cram people together in the cattle-care environment of most airliners and what do you expect them to act like? Add on further annoyances like masks and it's mildly surprising that it doesn't happen on almost every flight.

*holes like that are why I carry a couple of HVAC duct straps in my carryon bag, in case someone needs to be immobilized.

A low impulse person who physically attacks the crew should be rendered (at least) unconscious until they are removed from the plane.
Sounds like a good idea. However, what is the best way to render them unconscious? What if they won't sit still to be rendered? The Spock neck pinch (Star Trek) would be a handy method to teach the flight crews.

What’s pushing it?
Pretty simple. The Bad Boys and Girls have found out, via the liberal prosecutors and courts they can get away with being bad and worse.
The Republic, which has been failing for sometime now, is precariously close to the tipping point.
Sure glad I live in Fly Over Country.

The police at one time carried a leather strap with a few ounces of lead sewn into one end. It was a serious persuader for the ner-do-wells.
Replaced with the ineffective baton. Now the almost useless taser.
Bring back the slap jack!

Perhaps a case of life-long, pent-up anger over his parents naming him Ariel?
—
Guessing his parents were big fans of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”.
