Bush asked Israel to stay out of it so he could get the Saudi’s and other Arab Nations to join. It was more important to have the Arabs on board for political reasons.

Not exactly. I am sure Israel would have been more than willing to join us. Maybe the Arab nations wouldn’t be to happy about fighting along side Israel and against their “brothers”
Israels willingness to fight and courage should not be questioned in my view. Recall what they did during the Six Days War and the Yom Kippur War.
