Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett said that an Omicron variant case has been detected in town.
Because of this and in consultation with the Quinnipiack Valley Health District, the town of Hamden is reinstating its mask mandate effective Dec. 11.
The mayor says all people will be required to wear masks in indoor public spaces, regardless of vaccination status.
“We have a lot of public places where people need to go like grocery stores and I want everybody to feel safe going into grocery stores, restaurants, any indoor public places," Garrett told NBC Connecticut.
"Vaccination is the primary preventative method to control the spread of COVID-19. Preventing the spread of COVID-19 is a multi-pronged approach which includes frequent hand washing, maintaining social distancing indoors, avoiding large social gatherings, vaccination, and wearing masks indoors," Garrett said in a statement.

Uh, Wasn't that supposed to be the job of the jab, you know, to stop the spread and infection, like vaccines are supposed to do?
She just ignored the fact that at least 2 of the 3 Omicron "cases" were in fully jabbed people.
Translation: I'm scared of the Coof and afraid of going shopping, so I will mandate people do what make me "feel safe." It was announced on Dec 8th or 9th but doesn't take effect to the 11th. So nice of her to negotiate a weekend truce.
the omicron world wide death numbers are in and they are not pretty, in all age categories, 100% fatalities after 120 years of exposure.

It was the height of the cold and flu season then. Why was there no mask mandate?
So far, Alec Baldwin has killed more people than Omicron.
The variants are determined by using a combination of ouija boards, magic wands and flying carpets.
Of course they only work properly together if the Wizard is offered big piles of cash to complete the spell!
