Dan Carlin’s series Blueprint for Armageddon gave me some insight into Chamberlain, namely that WWI was so staggeringly horrible that men who grew up in that era were so dramatized that they’d try most anything to avoid a repeat. So, while I think showing weakness is never a good strategy, at least Chamberlain has an excuse and I understand where he was coming from. Biden, on the other hand, is just a feckless coward.

Good point. “Appeasement” of the Central Powers after Franz Ferdinand. was shot probably would have avoided the horrible bloody mess that was WW I. After all, Kaiser Wilhelm II was not insane.

But appeasement failed to prevent WW lI. And that’s because Hitler was insane.

So is Putin more like Kaiser Wilhelm II, or is he more like Hitler? That’s the key question here.
