Making it a States’ issue IS overturning Roe v Wade. That is my hoped for outcome.

I agree and I have always believed abortion should be both a State and local issue. A city, county or State should have the right to ban or support abortion as it's citizens feel is best for them. In our city, one of the top ten in the state in population, I suspect abortions are performed by some providers, but, the nearest planned butcherhood mill is an hour or more away in a larger city. There is no ban, our city is just in a very conservative county. If your GP does not provide abortions or referrals to an abortionist you already have to drive an hour or more to get it done

By making it a local issue, as long as the clinics comply with State viability laws, in some regions of the country, abortion will become a non-issue politically. Obviously that will not be the case in major metro areas as planned butcherhood has it's tentacles deep in Blue State politicians pockets. It could allow antiabortion groups to focus more on educating young women and men.
