Actually, science, with its discoveries, is proving the existence of God. I am currently reading Eric Metaxas’ book “Is Atheism Dead?” I don’t like the title, but he’s laying out the case that is so overwhelming for God via science, archeology & history that atheists don’t have a leg to stand on.
As humans, we are exquisitely formed, as is our earth, moon, & universe. God is responsible. I’m ‘early’ in the book, but this overwhelming sense of discovery & awe hit me the other day as I was reading - it’s exciting, frankly. I’ve always believed in God on faith, although I’ve marveled at His creation - this book lays out details of those marvels that were either unknown to me or far more exquisite than I could even have imagined.
God is responsible.
In today’s world, that can be seen as a profound statement.
Coupled with the scripture that man was created in the image of God. It would appear there is a bit more need of man to be responsible.
I had the pleasure of meeting a double-PHD physicist from Cornell a few days ago. I asked him point blank- Is the universe fine-tuned for life? His answer? “Apparently.”
I requested that book from Santa, so I’ll be reading it in a few weeks, too.
The first half of the book on increasing, undeniable scientific evidence for God’s existence is simply breathtaking ... and Metaxas does a simply brilliant job of laying it out for all to understand.
I also read Is Atheism Dead. Wonderful book. Eric Metaxas did a ton of research in science and Biblical archaeology for our benefit. I was so impressed, I also read his book on Wilberforce, which is also very good.
I just bought the Audible version of the book on your reccommendation.
Stephen Meyer writes like you describe Metaxas’ work. Have you read any of Meyer’s stuff? He’ll make a believer out of ya.........
