Apple make some computers in the US like the Mac Pro, other than that no one does. As for operating system, there is Linux, but likely you need to know Unix commands and so forth. Plus there is malware out there for it.
Even if you get some Linux system running on some older PC (assembled in China), you will still face security problems that will require patches to overcome with any success, until you get hacked, pwned, and owned again.
All PC makers and software purveyors have cut deals with China. It is a necessity to do business there - no getting around it.
Perhaps if you find an old Tandy running basic from the early 80s, you will escape all the problems associated with China, big business, big software, and the web - which you will not be able to access anyway. the only other option is to find a remote piece of property and go live on it. There’s lots of it around Fairbanks, AK - just you, the wolves, and the bears.
Standing on principles to the extent of crippling yourself is never a good idea.
You do not need to know Unix commands to run Linux. Please stop spreading 1980's propaganda.
"Standing on principles to the extent of crippling yourself is never a good idea."
Donations to China disguised as purchases of Apple products is never a good idea. Donations to the DNC disguised as purchases of Apple products is never a good idea either.

Only, you know, 82.59% of the money went to progressive causes. I guess that's not so bad!
