He’s on oral meds but the insulin needs to be prescribed for when sugars out of control during acute illness. It despicable they won’t address it- he takes great care of himself with diabetes and then his body suffers the effects of high sugar during illness because no one will help. They don’t give him insulin prescription for emergency use. Going to try to see if I can find a diabetes nurse educator that’s also a nurse practitioner. I haven’t looked lately but you could buy insulin OTC at Walmart a few years ago.
