I haven't yet read the latest book, but Shepard said that it covers new material that was only recently disclosed. His 2019 book made a strong case that there were illegal ex partemeetings between the investigators and the judges.

Shepard's first book on the subject, The Secret Plot to Make Ted Kennedy President: Inside the Real Watergate Conspiracy (New York: Sentinel, 2008) is also worth reading.
