Fed charges? At the federal level there is no restriction on gifting guns to family members. Relative age isn’t an issue. Straw purchase doesn’t relate as long as it’s within family-——in this case I expect liability for stupidity is a bigger issue at the state level?

Federal minimum age to purchase a handgun is 21. Are you saying that parents can legally circumvent that at will to provide handguns to their minor children? I’m going to need some convincing ...

Remember, you can never under any circumstances transfer a firearm to someone you know — or have reasonable cause to believe — legally can’t own one. That’s a federal felony, so be careful.
