At least 60 Michigan schools have been forced to temporarily close as a result of copycat threats in the wake of the shooting in Oxford Township, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said Thursday.
Just days after a 15-year-old boy at Oxford High School was charged in the fatal shootings of four students and the injuries of eight others, Bouchard stated that at least 100 instances of direct threats or threatening social media posts have surfaced throughout the state.
This includes a 12-year-old who threatened to "shoot up" his school....

Another FR poster may have stumbled one of many reasons why there is so much school violence in today’s world:
The kids need to learn how to be more resilient.
They need to know you don’t need to be liked by everyone. Just learn to do without that person who dislikes you.
You may be rejected by a person or a group you really like.
This too will pass.
Don’t waste too much of your time being envious of others.
Be thankful for what you’ve got. If that’s not good enough, show some ambition and clarity of mind; plan to (legally!!) do what’s needed to obtain certain material rewards.
You must believe in the concept of ‘forgiveness’. Learn to forgive imperfection in yourself and in others.
That doesn’t mean allow yourself to be a doormat.
Respect yourself to recognize and leave a toxic situation.
Shake it off and keep walking forward.
Show basic respect and consideration for others. Most will begin to treat you with the same care and awareness.
Things like being to work on time, or calling ahead if sick.
Good way to draw the lunatics out in the open.
Oh the joys living in an educational system that removed gospel of Christ and all Christian virtues.
Just be hopeful God continues to show this nation His mercy because with the corruption, violence and lawlessness going on now at every corner and this allowed and created this Administration and those who stand with them......as we don’t deserve it.

I bet you there just might be a few real harsh “time outs” going on right now.
“grounding them until they’re 40” makes sense. Most of these kids will still be home.
If I screwed up and " GOT CAUGHT" there was usually. Grounding and a garage to clean, a yard to weed or a friend of dads needed some slave labor in his yard or house. oh did I just say the "D" word?
I used to run a municipal youth ski club. On occasion we’d catch kids with illegal herbs and spices, especially on a weeklong trip we’d take to a resort that was a seven hour drive away.
We were very clear to parents that if their child was caught with weed or alcohol, the parents had 24 hours to come pick up their kids.
What we didn’t tell them or the kids what that we made the children call their parents and tell them what they had done while we monitored the call.
That made for either a very quiet ride home or a very loud ride home.
