Russia’s position on Ukraine is no different than what our position would be if Texas had seceded from America 30 years ago and had been taken over by the Soviet Union.
Not our circus, not our monkeys.
One of my favorite Tucker Carlson recent hits came when some Republican Congressman appeared to talk about how he and colleagues had sent a letter to Biden about military assitance to Ukraine.
He clearly expected Carlson would be congratulatory about that idea, and it was hilarious to see his growing frustration when that didn't take place. He never answered the question: "Why is this in our National interests?"
If Texas had seceded thirty years ago it would probably be too powerful by now for any other country to mess with.
I think that this is about the best analogy so far and I don’t blame Russia at all keeping western interests away from their doorstep. Be a lot better if he US would clean up their own mess, before sticking their nose where it doesn’t belong.
In your scenario, does the secession follow the USA killing 10 million Texans using a combination of an artificial famine and NKVD death squads? Because if not, the hypothetical comparison doesn't work.
