I have faith in Thomas and Alito to do the right thing.

My view of the other Justices will depend on how they rule on abortion and mandates.

Clarence Thomas is the best Justice on the court. His decisions are based on the Constitution.

I understand that ACB also made an excellent point - to the whiney claim that Prelogar made about a mother having to “bring a child into the world” (and, be faced with that *burden*, as 0blama called it)….that EVERY state has a Safe Haven law, where a new mother can take her newborn, to be placed for adoption.

For those still wondering why abortion is not depriving a person of their liberty - it’s because depriving someone of their liberty in that context refers primarily to incarceration.

And note also the guarantee that no State shall deprive any person of life, in that same sentence. Contrast the use of the word “person” against the prior usage of “citizen”...clearly the implication is that life applies to the unborn also, because citizens are those “born” or naturalized in the US of A.

Fourteenth Amendment

Section 1

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

If we had 9 Justice Thomas’s, we’d have a good chance at restoring the Republic.

We might squeak by with 6 pr 7. Five is cutting it too close. :-)

As used in Constitution, liberty means freedom from arbitrary and unreasonable restraint upon an individual. Liberty under law extends to the full range of conduct which the individual is free to pursue, and it cannot be restricted except for a proper governmental objective.

The definition of a (Natural) Person is also defined:
A living human being. Legal systems can attach rights and duties to natural persons without their express consent.

IMHO, the 14th will be the excuse Roe isn’t going anywhere. The actual reason is because the SC likes the status quo and would like to avoid civil unrest.
