Yea they’ve got nothing to lose, let’s see if china goes slave trader on them..
They’ll have a window after the Olympics and before our 2024 election. If they’re going to move on Taiwan, I would think that that would be to time. I think that even Australia is a bridge too far for them, militarily. Conflict in Africa may have to be resolved economically, in the near term.

Empires seem to get a lot of “mission creep”.
China should be focusing on the Pacific and staying away from Africa.
Without a blue-water Navy, they should concern themselves with near-shore security. Taiwan seems to be more a prestige thing than anything else. They’ve got questionable neighbors on all sides. I guess it’s a cool technological feat that they can launch a missile and attack Australia from the south, but it doesn’t seem like a practical tool.
