Actually - no, we shouldn’t. Wright wasn’t much of a loss, but the problem is that in the process she actually endangered her fellow officers - quoting prior posts in a previous thread to save myself typing:
Oh, and she waved around her gun, endangered the officer next to her and almost shot the officer on the other side of the car.
You can go to Youtube and find the original if you don’t believe this one, but I’ll go with this version from a generally pro-police former officer who is now a YouTuber:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wm5SMurcZtM
1:02 - Driver out of vehicle, officer visible on other side of car.
1:10 - Officer on other side of car appears to be opening door and/or looking inside the window.
1:19 - the offside officer is IN THE CAR ON THE PASSENGER SEAT.
1:22 - “I’ll Tase ya!”
1:23 - Glock comes into frame, finger clearly visible inside trigger guard.
1:24 - Glock is in frame. Officer’s finger is clearly on the trigger.
1:25 - “I’ll Tase you!” Also at 1:25, she has already muzzle swept the closer officer’s arm once.
1:26 - She muzzle sweeps the closer officer’s leg.
1:28 - She shoots the driver without checking where the offside officer is at all. She’s also *very* close to the closer officer’s head.
1:31-1:32 - Car drives off and you can see that the other officer was directly across from her when she fired.
If you would like stills of the video at any point, please let me know.
This was primarily a training failure, then a leadership failure, but the officer herself bears much responsibility herself. You can see the other two officers are carrying crossdraw Tasers as is her department’s policy. Her hand never goes for crossdraw, it only goes for her Glock.

Glock coming out of holster, finger already in guard, probably (but cannot say from video alone) has already flagged the other officer on this side.

Glock still coming up, finger clearly on trigger even though she’s not ready to shoot. *You can still see the other officer behind Wright in the line of fire!!!*

The problem with her being fired is that they didn’t take her certification or bar her from working in law enforcement again. Look at all the incompetence above from a 26 year ‘veteran’ and tell me if you think she should ever be allowed to wear a badge again. This woman was a hazard to not just suspects but her fellow officers and literally everyone else around her.
If Daunte wasn’t a lowlife thug he’d still be alive. When one chooses his life style one runs a huge risk.
I think so.
She is the kind of officer that becomes a community outreach social worker.
