With so many contradictory comments hitting the wire, investors might be struggling to parse what omicron actually means for the global economy. Will the mutated virus cut through vaccine-induced immunity like butter leading to another global outbreak? Or is the latest variant scare merely a ruse for vaccine-makers to hawk more jabs, while governments from the US, to Europe and elsewhere now have the cover to make vaccinations and boosters mandatory? There's very little hard data available. But what is available warrants due consideration.
For example, the latest data out of South Africa, where scientists initially sounded the international alarm over omicron, suggest that the variant isn't causing the surge in cases that many feared might emerge.
COVID cases in Guateng, seen as the epicenter of South Africa's COVID outbreak, and the cauldron from which omicron emerged, declined to 1,909 on Nov. 29 from 2,308 a day earlier. The day before that, the number in Gauteng was just 2,629, showing two straight days of successive declines. But this data has been largely ignored by the mainstream press peddling FUD about the new variant.
A chart showing the 7-day average in South Africa, the EU and the US over the past year shows omicron hasn't caused a surge in new cases. In fact, COVID numbers are relatively stable, despite the fact that a growing number of developed nations - most recently Japan - has imposed travel restrictions on South Africa and its neighbors.
The number of confirmed omicron cases around the world is still relatively tiny (although the exact number of confirmed cases of omicron globally remains unclear). But the EU has recorded at least 44 confirmed cases of the omicron variant in 11 countries, including the Netherlands, which purportedly saw its first cases of omicron arrive weeks ago. Dutch authorities said the variant had arrived in Europe as early as Nov. 19, prior to the arrival of two flights from South Africa that are believed to have carried the virus.
If the data does show a need for new COVID vaccines to combat the new variant, the EMA says new jabs could be developed and approved within three to four months.
But so far, the numbers show no severe cases of illness or death tied to the new variant.

But setting aside the impact on cases, hospitalizations and deaths, Economists' big fear right now is that the omicron panic could dent consumer confidence, which could in turn serve to weaken the recovery, particularly in the UK and Europe where the situation is more delicate, and where lockdowns across the Continent have made things more complicated this far into what some have described as a "fourth wave" of COVID some believe to be driven by seasonal factors. In Germany, chancellor-in-waiting Olaf Scholz said he would consider vaccine mandates.
Going forward, investors will need to parse for themselves whether governments and vaccine-makers' warnings about omicron are self-serving, or legitimate concerns based on data.

But, I’m betting when this one wanes, as it’s already doing in South Africa, with it’s mild symptoms and no one pays attention anymore, there will be an Q - R - S - T, variant depending on how much fear they need to spread, how badly they need to distract the people from another screw up from CornPop and his administration, or some other event that will be very negative to the Democrat/Socialist/Globalist cause.

It’s not likely the guys analyzing the specific mutation structure would get it wrong. It’s more likely South Africa is desperate to tourism revenue to resume and manufactured whatever story would make that happen.

COVID hits, no “vaccines”, no mutations, no variants, starts to subside, life starts getting back to normal. Shots become available, mutations and variants, and it’s a constant state of fear porn for those that drink it up.
Gilbraltar....the most vaccinated place on the planet is shutting down. Israel and UK, two of the most vaccinated countries, have increased COVID cases, but at least they’re somewhat honest about reporting the adverse stuff. Completely different than here, where they want to hide all that information.
And of course, the companies are given immunity from any and all prosecution regarding their products by the morons in Congress.

None of that matters. Only the death count matters.
Presuming Covid is flu requires you to see Excess Deaths were 0. They were not. All over the world they were not. EDs were huge last year.
As important, EDs in early Spring, before there were any special restrictions that might anger people or that might scare them from regular doctor visits, were huge. They tracked the official Covid count in terms of trend. EDs came from the virus. Were it flu, EDs would have been zero, because flu existed in the earlier years.
There were more EDs than Covid deaths last year, but of course the likelihood of elderly choosing to tough out a Covid infection at home, and dying there, would cause them to be counted as a death, but with no Covid diagnosis, not as a Covid death. This is all stuff thoroughly covered.
Details about death counts must do two things. They must align with EDs, and every bit as important, they must align with what has happened all over the world. I can assure you the Russian Parliament doesn’t give a damn about vote by mail in the US, but go have a look at their death count. You’ll find the same in Brazil. They don’t give a damn about US politics, either.
Their people are dying. Nothing else matters to them.

All one has to look at is Florida. Virtually no restrictions related to COVID. Cases plummeting. States where they’re pushing the shots and are heavily vaccinated, cases skyrocketing.
Get the shot or the booster for the Omicron variant? Don’t the variants comes from the virus mutating to go around whatever may have been in it’s way? IE...a mRNA shot gets in the way and the virus mutates to avoid it.
Still interesting, though, that yet another pile of ineptitude starts to fall on CornPop and another variant pops up to steal all the headlines. One that is supposedly very mild, but is also the deadliest one on the planet.
Just prior to the first use of ED, I spelled out Excess Deaths. I guess it is Excess Deaths you don’t know what stands for.
The 4 yrs prior to Covid, adjusted for population gain, a computation is made week by week of normal death total in the US, and state by state. A google of Excess Deaths will lead you to the CDC page that tracks these. Note This is primarily presented as ALL CAUSES. That is the best way to avoid over or under attribution of death to Covid. It is the most pure measure of the impact of the virus.
On the CDC graph is the death count for each year that week (again, with population adjustment). In 2020 there was a huge increase in ALL CAUSES death count that rose and fell across the year, aligned very closely with COVID death tracking.
As for Florida, given that there has been no superb study on the value of masks, not using them should have no impact. Restrictions when you are seeing 4000 dead/day as the country did in January probably aren’t all that required, because rational people will restrict themselves. So one can not really do any sort of regional profile, because people behave differently based on circumstances.
Case in point airlines. At no time did the US govt forbid domestic travel. Passenger traffic still crashed. People restrict themselves.
Feel free to jump and swim in the world of statistics and numbers and calculations and whatever else you want to try and understand the monster that Fauci, et al has created to destroy everything.
There was no mutation until the shots showed up. Doctors and researchers tell that the last thing to do is administer a shot while the virus is making its way around as that will cause the mutation. I won’t go into all the other lies we were told about this virus.
From what I saw and was told by folks in the medical field, here in Georgia, that most of the folks that were dying were OLD and/or had some serious underlying medical conditions.
Also know, as we all do though some still worship at the altar of Pfizer/Moderna/J&J, that many deaths, possibly thousand and thousands, just might have been prevented if the powers that be had taken a moment to speak with and try some of the therapies and treatments used by doctors all over the country, instead of being discredited and in some cases, fired.
