Red states are getting redder and blue bluer: Politically polarized Americans are moving to states that reflect their own views on abortion, mask mandates and CRT
Daily Mail UK ^ | 11/30/2021 | Ronny Reyes

Americans have started factoring a state's political ideology into their decision to move as the nation grows increasingly polarized.

A survey from Redfin, a real-estate brokerage firm based in Seattle, predicted more people would vote with their feet in 2022, moving to states that align with their political beliefs about abortion, civil rights, mask and vaccine mandates and critical race theory.

To: Alas Babylon!

Not disputing the conservative aspect, just that it took a long time for the party change.

Yup it’s called federalism and it’s what the founders intended.

Amen. Laboratory of democracy. Although I disagree with the conclusion of the article as I believe commies are like locusts who destroy their habitat before moving on to destroy others. But it WOULD be good news if true.

The source article itself seems like a pretty difficult, all-over-the-place, biased read to me. As it cites Trump's "debunked claims that election fraud cost him the election", several states passing "anti-trans legislation" and "making it more difficult to vote".

So the article here seems pretty bad. While the headline, if commenting only on that, is a good thing.

Who gets custody of the military, for example? Who gets custody of the U.S. dollar? All of these details could be worked out, yes, but I don’t imagine that the transition would be a smooth one.

Military? They active duty members can go with their home state if they secede. Issuing new currency is a snap, hopefully gold backed to some degree. What you see as problems I See as marvelous opportunity to make things right.

West Virginia. Also, Iowa was once very purple/blue-leaning. Not so much anymore…

I remember when retired lefty senator Howard Metzenbaum left Ohio for Florida to croak without paying the state death tax.

Ah, but here’s the problem. Over time, red states are turning reliably blue. But blue states aren’t turning reliably red.

Blue staters having been moving to Florida for decades. Florida remains red and was even more red in 2020 than it was in 2000 for example.

U-Haul says there is a waiting list of people who can’t wait to move to NJ. /s

Actually, if you count the Fed midnight drops of border-invaders and unvetted Afghans, the Blue State populations may also be increasing.

I am moving back to Texas after 10 years in Minnesota, leaving Minnesota a little bluer and Texas a little redder :-) Can’t wait to be home!

>>>The big problem is that The Left has used the Federal system to Nationalize everything they want, when and as they want it, while simultaneously blocking any attempts so rescind any overreach.>>>

The Republicans had a golden opportunity to make some drastic changes during Trump’s first 24 months when they controlled everything.....and they didn’t do squat. Shame on them....They may get another chance and they better do big things.

Well you gained valuable experience up North.

I always say when TSHTF and it requires a LOT of labor to keep warm in the winter, the Entitlement Army will head south.

Then you’ll be capable of going the other direction.

>>>I belong to a “moving” page on fb. The number of people posting they’re moving to Florida is mind blowing. The majority are coming from the north/NE and CA, and the main reason given is “freedom”>>>

Same with Texas. Florida, Texas, Tennessee, South Carolina..etc. gonna be redder then a firetruck soon. And that’s good.

Have you been talking to my ex-wife?

Anyway, I am an expert in many things (I’ve taught courses in quantum mechanics, for example). But I freely admit that I’m often wrong. So I normally appreciate it when folks correct me. That way I learn something!

But I stop reading when a post starts with a personal insult, like the one above.

The entire south, including Alabama, Mississippi etc were solidly Democrat before, when they instituted Jim Crow laws etc.
Today they are getting clobbered in the south.

. But I’m just calling it as I’m seeing it.)

No you are not. You are pushing Dem talking points and far left propaganda.>>>>

Exactly...well said!

I meant to say I’m often wrong about politics. I’ve had many arguments with Einstein’s ghost about quantum mechanics. So far I think I’ve got the upper hand!
