Hot air. I’m not optimistic that Roe will be overturned, but I don’t think that the reaction will materialize in the way that Shaheen predicts. Once pro-abort people in blue states understand that the horrific practice will be unaffected where they live, I think that the overall reaction will be muted. Conversely, in the South and other areas not enamored with baby-killing in the first place, few will care if the state goes from approximately 1 abortion clinic down to zero.
What you wrote is what reasonable people might think. However, pro-aborts would react with fury, because they would not be able to use the excuse that abortion is a God-given, or at least constitutionally guaranteed right to ease their consciences. Also, they react with rage when their will is thwarted. On the other hand, prolife people rejoice if any life is saved, and so will welcome any change that stops some abortions, even if the prohibition isn’t nation-wide.
