There was a guy down the street who owned two Volt’s.

They seemed to have disappeared rather quickly from his driveway

That is because you do not want to have to replace the battery
pack.

The cost to replace the battery packs on an EV cost between $5000-15000 PLUS LABOR.

So, after about 6-8 years you do not want to own an EV.
Compare this to some of the 1960’s 240 series Volvo’s with over 1 million miles still being driven today.

On another thread I posted about electric schoolbuses. Didn’t think about the short lifespan of batteries.

Batteries last 5-6 years before needing replacement. School buses are allowed to remain in service up to 18 years.

Zero economic sense.
Back to Buttigeg and his stupid comment that rural people need electric cars. How many 30 year old trucks are still in service in farm communities?
