Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said Monday that Japan will close borders to new entries of foreign nationals, including business travelers, foreign students and foreign interns from Tuesday as fears of the new omicron variant of the coronavirus grow.
“This is a preventive, emergency measure to avoid a worst-case scenario,” Kishida told reporters at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Asians by me were HYPER SCARED of covid. Asian stores and restaurants always had the most stringent procedures, starting the soonest and ending the latest.
I want to. But I’m. Not going to say anything.
What they should do is require all foreigners to be fully vaccinated for at least 2 weeks prior to entry. They could maybe require people with a second dose more than 6 months ago to have a third dose. The third dose has measurable benefits in less than a week and gives peak protection in 2 - 3 weeks.
Vaccinated people are spreading this damn virus, what in the world are you talking about???
Vaccinated people don’t spread the virus as much as unvaccinated people. Even when infected they have the disease for a shorter time and can transmit for a shorter time. It’s unvaccinated people who are the super spreaders. All the new variants come from countries with low vaccination rates.
