Governors, all gobvernors, have way too much “emergency power”.
This should be obvious to everyone by now.
The state legislatures and courts are allowing it. Emergency powers are only supposed to last thirty days, but here in IL, it’s beeen two years. None of the other branches care to intervene, and Democrats have not just a super majority, but I’d argue a hyper majority. It’s almost uniparty rule, especially with politicians like Kinzinger who are undercover Democrats posing as Conservatives.
Yet, Chicago and Springfield’s populations outnumber the rest of the state on the political scale. How lovely for the remainder of us.
