Australia using its police and military to help a pro-Communist China government?

Yes.

But only because the alternative is that China would do it if we didn't.

If Australia didn't send in support, it would be the perfect excuse for China to do so.

And we don't want Chinese troops that close to us.

It's a recurring issue in the Pacific at the moment - if Australia (and to a lesser extent New Zealand) don't provide aid and assistance, China definitely will. They seek to dominate the region and we can't afford to give them any more openings than we have to.

Its a tough call as you see it what I read included the money story.

Its my understanding that Solomon Islands reaped a huge Chicom windfall with the 2019 switch.

Australia and NZ have done this before as you and I know but not under these circumstances.

China has the money to do what it wants it seems where’s the money from the other side?

To send the Chinese military to Guadalcanal to squeeze Australia would be a long reach for China since they are tied down with Taiwan, the Philippines, Japan and the island disputes.

Japan took a lot of territory to the north and west in 1941-42 creating a supply line before putting its marbles in the Solomons.
