I agree with this jury. This case was nothing like KR’s and if they called this self-defense then it really would have undermined his verdict.

I’m white, strongly supported Kyle Rittenhouse - and think they DESERVE the guilty decision. There was a law that COULD be interpreted as allowing them to do what they did, but I don’t agree with that interpretation of it and it seems the jury wasn’t buying it either.
This was NOT an open/shut case. I thought they should have been found guilty but would have accepted it as an honest decision if found not guilty.
No way was this an open/shut obvious “These are good guys” case that should have automatically have freed them!
On the Black guy:
He fought with a man who had a shotgun and 2 other guys for backup. I understand his anger at being chased and held at gunpoint but I would not have fought with them, I don’t think, but he made his choice. I wasn’t there.
They did. They were just on another attorney’s stream.

These verdicts go against the original intent of the Founders. There is no way this would have happened during the Founding era.

I disagree that they’re guilty but thank you for the response. McMichaels Sr knew Arbery from his work with law enforcement and Arbery knew him. Arbery knew he’d been caught or he wouldn’t have grabbed the gun.

Very well put. He could have justifiably been afraid for his life. Thinking he was about to get shot, he played the only card he had and fought back.
Except he had been in that neighborhood several times at night doing the same thing and the cops couldn’t catch him.

Showing that level of aggression never will end well.
At that point, I would expect a claim of self-defense.
But that’s just me.
