All they can really do is to admit their guilt in stirring up this needless and pointless mass murder, and step away. Give the people their country back, broken, so they can fix it and move on.

And enforce the laws, vermin like this should be permanently removed from society before they reach this point. Whoever is responsible for setting this thug free is more or less a co-defendant now. And so are the liberal enemedia.
