It’s hard. When the majority of a given race wants me dead, because of *my* race, it’s hard not to condemn and avoid all people of that race.

It’s hard, but of course, you are correct. Still: Not sure how to balance fairness with practicality, here.

I hear you.

Up until about 2009, when cell phones took over the world, I, a very white man dressed like a white man, used to go to S.E. DC to deliver used computers to some of my poor black students. I’d park my car without too much thought, and I never felt threatened. (The experience demonstrated to me how poverty is inter-generational: just about every home I went to had nothing on the walls, a TV blaring, and loud yelling either there or next door.) Looking back, it shows how much Obama **ffed up racial relations in this country. Today, I wouldn’t even think about going into those neighborhoods.

I stay in touch with a number of my former students who are now in the 20s. When they have babies, I talk to them about raising children with books, curiosity, patience and love — you know, the way middle class white people do. They never call me a racist for saying those things, although many white people would. It’s insane. (Thank you, Barry.)

One thing we can do is to stop supporting the media and entertainment empires that laud and model black criminality and ghetto culture. I no longer buy movies, I’m all out of sports (except tennis which I only watch via European coverage), and I opt out of as much advertising as I can.

Something truly awful happened when Obama got into the presidency. It didn’t have to be that way, but that vile little parasite poisoned our country. Sure, his message of victimhood resonated, but it only resonated because he preached and promoted it at every opportunity. None of this crap would be going on if he had taken the precisely opposite reaction to Trayvon, etc. (I was still teaching when that happened, and I remember the attitude of the school changing after Obama started mouthing off about it.) Evil ever creates opportunity.
