And, just like that, there were no more shopping malls and retail stores in California.
“And, just like that, there were no more shopping malls and retail stores in California.”
Every few weeks the local news station or newspaper do a story about certain parts of town being a “food desert” where no grocery stores are located. The usual social justice activists, liberal white ministers, and young woke virtue signalers are trotted out to weep and moan about racism and discrimination against people of color in certain neighborhoods. Usually there are comments about the elderly and children being malnourished due to absence of food resources in the neighborhood.
The reality is, grocery stores once existed in these neighborhoods until the cost of operating them became too high? Why did the operating costs become unacceptable? Frequent shoplifting and robberies by the people who lived in the neighborhood were to blame.
It is a good thing the affluent woke young people and upper middle class progressives, who continuously vote for leftist politician and support communist social justice organizations, are beginning to experience the consequences of their support for the insanity destroying communities and our nation. Perhaps the loss of retail stores, car break-ins, home invasions, and arson will cause them to develop the reasoning skills they clearly were not taught in the expensive elite universities they attended.
You won't need a crystal ball to see this comng.
I wonder how such a scenario would pan in out in say, some multi-tier urban shopping center such as Westfield in San Francisco (5th & Market)? Harder to get in and get out, thus less attractive for looters.
California = “ Who cares?”
They voted for it, and I hope they get it good and hard like this every day.
