This happened in the East Bay - Walnut Creek - not SF. The lunacy has spread throughout blue California.

I used to live a couple miles from there. I moved to Texas in 2012. Most people that live in that community would have never thought that would happen in their neighborhood, at least not 10 years ago.

Not so. Only the blue townships controlled by TWOT’s all lit up by bravely outlawing plastic bags and holding 5K’s for climate change.

About 30+ miles east of the ocean. Past that, all is red. And, peaceful. It is like a line drawn down the map — except for Sacramento — the initial sight of first corruption.

The fall of northern counties in California prefigured the fall of states we see now. Remember Ford, Reagan X2, and GHW Bush all carried California.

When I was a student in Santa Clara County in the 80s, San Francisco, Alameda, Marin, Santa Cruz we’re always loopy. However, Santa Clara, Contra Costa where this store is, San Mateo,
Solano, would still frequently send Republicans to office. Eventually all the Bay Area counties fell. Then the cancer spread inland to Sacramento, San Joaquin, and they fell. Now farther East we’re under siege here in Placer. GOP still commands a pluraity in party registration, but has dropped 11 points.

This is a simplified model as there are a lot more counties involved, and I don’t know that the tide can ever be rolled back. If anything can make a dent in the blue wall, perhaps smug suburban libs having their stores in the clean and comfortable malls looted might help

Walnut Creek is 2% black—the other shoppers must have thought a foreign army had invaded!

Isn’t Walnut Creek a very upscale, family oriented neighborhood?

Seem like nearly identical events in Union Square and Walnut Creek.

Next will be all the blue state cities and surrounding suburbs.
