Party like it’s 1621!

As much as you can, because the gathering to give thanks part is more important than the giving thanks part, which should be happening all the time anyway.

• Morning AB, All. As always, thank you AB for doing this thread so reliably and keeping the peace with gentle thread policing. Thank you Bray for weekly written wisdom, Thank you RG for your fabulous pictures. Thank all yon contributors for excellent commentary to flesh it all out.

• Below are the words from my daily political diary. It is quite long so scroll on by if not interested. But do stay around and add your commentary and point of view to the thread.

 Daily Miscellany

Thoughts and flashes of brilliance that enter my head from nowhere.

Enjoy.  Or abhor, depending on the effect of my "wisdom".

The Kyle Rittenhouse court case

There is not much new on this court case because as of this writing all of the days have been awaiting a jury verdict.

However, as most of yon readers probably know, the big deal came when MSNBC was banned from the court house for all judicial proceedings.  Seems they had a reporter follow the bus taking the jury to the parking lot and trying to record the jurors and/or the license tags of the cars they were driving.

HAH!

It was bound to happen.  Although frankly I don't know why the judge didn't sequester the jury to begin with.  This jury situation is going to be a big problem with this verdict.

My mother-in-law was telling me about the time she was sequestered in a jury.  It was a trial for a man who was charged with raping four women.  MIL told me there was only one person on the jury holding out for a not guilty and the judge then ordered the jury sequestered.

She told me how her husband was phoned up by the court house and instructed to bring his wife clothes and how worried she was as to what he would bring as he was president of the bank of new England and did not know much about women's clothes.  She told me how the TV's were removed from the room and they had to eat in private dining rooms with no TV's.

This was in Massachusetts so why couldn't they do this in Wisconsin?

She said it was two nights and the holdout changed her mind.

If they would do this in Wisconsin it might change a few minds as well.

KYLE RITTENHOUSE WAS FOUND NOT GUILTY ON ALL CHARGES!!!

Rep. Gosar

The House of Representatives has voted to censure Rep. Gosar of Arizona for, heh, sending out some nasty video showing him appearing to kill Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and attacking President Joe Biden.

Wow.  We got the Democratic guy with the Chinese spy girlfriend.  We got the Muslim who gave millions of campaign funds to her boyfriend.  Then there's Maxine Waters who told the world to harass everyone who is a Republican and there is the Bernie Sanders fan who shot at a couple Republicans, hitting and almost killing one.

Gosar has been censured and removed from two committees on which he serves.  I tried to find this video but it has been removed from Twitter.  I bet somebody out there has it.

Here's what the Republicans need to do, just as soon as they gain power in the House, THEY NEED TO START CENSORING THOSE DEMOCRATIC IDIOTS!

The Republicans never fight back.

Which is why they almost always lose.

The Arbery Trial

While I admit to being captivated by the Rittenhouse trial, I was seriously mesmerized by the trial of Travis McMichael, who is charged with killing of Ahmaud Arbery.

It is too a trial about a man who says he needed to use self-defense to avoid being shot by Ahmaud Arbery.

The synopsis is that this happened in a community that was suffering from theft from local homes under construction.  A group in the neighborhood believe it was being done by Arbery and there are various videos showing Arbery, at one point captured by a camera in the house showing Arbery looking around as if to decide what was worth stealing.

It gets complicated, involving McMichael and his father spotting Arbery jogging around the community, other neighbors joining in the chase, videos made by cell phones, fear that Arbery had a gun and, I am not making this up, a suggestion by the local police department that the neighbors make a citizen's arrest.

I have been spellbound by this trial.

It turns out that Arbery did NOT have a gun when McMichael shot him with a rifle three times.  However, as McMichael asserts, Arbery DID lunge to take his rifle and he shot in self-defense.

Oh Arbery was no doubt involved in the robberies of various properties in this community but folks, you don't deserve the death penalty for stealing tools from a house under construction as some might argue.  However, Arbery, if not guilty and up to no good, could have stopped and addressed the neighbors who asked him to stop instead of lunging for McMichael's rifle.

However, McMichael is a wonderful witness and he had no intent to kill anybody.

Well neither did Rittenhouse.

Been a crazy week for those intrigued by True Crime.

THE FLY ON THE WALL

Yes I am a fly and yes I also Blog.  I tend to wander around among the politicians and hear their conversation.  Because I am a fly beneficial to humanity, I share that which I hear. Bear in mind my spelling.  I am, after all, only a fly.

So I chanced to speak to the spider recently.  The spider is my insect friend and mentor, though some say he is some sort of drone.

"Joe," the spider said one day as I sipped crumbs at a human meeting.  That's another thing...the spider never eats.  What animal of any kind doesn't eat?  And he calls me Joe....I don't know why.

"that jury for Kyle Rittenhouse is to be admired as much as any soldier who served in the military," he said.

"Why?" I asked.  "They didn't fight in a war or anything."

"And not all soldiers serve in a war," spider said.  "But they do their job and they are not paid spectacularly, Joe."

I had no idea how much jurors or soldiers were paid.

"But that jury, Joe, took their time, read the judges rules.  They were in danger at times.  They didn't cheat or call the newspapers.  They took the time they needed and came up with a verdict.  Can you imagine a jury doing such a thing when they could have forced a mistrial, told one to vote against so no verdict.  They could have gotten out of this, Joe.  They did the right thing, and they did it well."

For now I leave what the spider said for humans to read.

This fly has to think about it more while munching on crumbs.
