You have to feel sorry for this lady. She was put through an ordeal and thrown in prison for something that is routine in Washington DC....the equivalent of a speeding ticket. She wasn’t even connected to any politician in Russia and she certainly wasn’t lobbying in the US. Maria Butina admitted she reported to Aleksandr Torshin( a former deputy governor of Russia's central bank). She admitted to feeding him information, which he forwarded to Russia's foreign ministry.
