Masks. Do. Not. Work. At least, not as any kind of protection against the transmission of virus particles.
They are probably great for preventing the inhalation of dust particles, but for anything smaller than that, you might as well be wearing window screening on your face. Multiple masks are NOT better than a single mask, until you get to the point at which it is nearly impossible for air flow through all the multiple layers.
At which point you asphyxiate anyway. Maybe that is the objective.
