Yet many others nations, not just those with poor reporting but like Taiwan, have significantly lower death rates despite less restrictions. |
20th May, 2021 Amid the surge in COVID-19 cases, Taiwan on May 19 has tightened social distancing rules. The Central Epidemic Command Center(CECC) announced Level 3 restrictions in the nation from May 20 to May 28. Under the CECC's Level 3 restrictions, people will have to wear masks at all times outside their homes. Indoor gatherings of more than five people are not allowed and outdoor gatherings are limited to 10 people. All business places and public venues are closed while essential services, police departments, hospitals and government buildings are advised to remain open. - https://www.republicworld.com/world-news/rest-of-the-world-news/covid-19-taiwan-imposes-level-3-restrictions-after-surge-in-fresh-cases.html Taipei, Oct 28 (IANS): Taiwan's executive authority said on Thursday that restriction measures imposed to prevent the spread of Covid-19 will be relaxed starting from November 2 onwards as the outbreak has been brought under control. According to the authority, face masks will not be required at karaoke bars, and eating and drinking at cinemas or on trains will be allowed, reports Xinhua news agency. Restrictions on the number of people at gatherings will also be lifted. - https://www.daijiworld.com/news/newsDisplay?newsID=887793 Taipei, July 23 (CNA) Government restrictions will be further relaxed to allow more social activity after the current COVID-19 alert is lowered to Level 2 on July 27, Health Minister Chen Shih-chung (陳時ä¸) said Friday. At a press briefing, Chen said the new Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) guidelines for the Level 2 alert will remain in place until at least Aug. 9 but that the measures will be adjusted depending on the COVID-19 situation in Taiwan.- https://www.globalsecurity.org/security/library/news/2021/07/sec-210723-cna02.htm Taipei, Sept. 27 (CNA) Taiwan will ease some COVID-19 restrictions at movie theaters, sports venues, and train stations this week, and allow the reopening of more entertainment venues on Oct. 5 if the COVID-19 situation remains stable, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said Monday. - https://www.globalsecurity.org/security/library/news/2021/09/sec-210927-cna02.htm However, in comparisons as this, such aspects as obesity, average age, general health, population density, climate, mobility, heath care, social characteristics and more must be weighed. |
For any country or area, source the actual deaths, divide by the population and multiply by 100 to calculate the percentage of dead in a nation or state. The percentage of death is now so relatively low and in the normal range, that "cases" is the new hysterical tool, and not all “cases” result in anything more than a moderate flu-like illness.
For the world (using Johns Hopkins and Worlodometer numbers) the result is instructive.
Global Deaths through 23 months — ( 5,105,270 / 7,906,949,863 ) x 100 = 0.0645 %
Darn small percentage for a pandemic.
You get what you vote for.
Bingo. Let’s not forget the monster that Austria foisted off on the world — a socialist ArseHat that much of Europe really liked.
Kinda like the US right now, sadly.
The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself ... and the vaccinated who contract then spread the virus.
