How Kyrsten Sinema brought Gen X to the Senate
Spectator World ^ | 18 Nov 2021 | Stephen L Miller

Posted on 11/18/2021 1:57:12 PM PST by Rummyfan

Somehow, after all the crocheted pussy hats and #MeToo, it was suddenly fine to film a woman in a bathroom. When President Biden was given a chance to condemn the harassment, he wrote off the incident as part and parcel of lawmaking: “The only people it doesn’t happen to are the people who have Secret Service standing around them. So it’s part of the process.”

Sinema responded in kind, not only by sticking to her guns in negotiations on the Hill, but by taking off for Europe for a week in mid-October. Her message to the Biden administration could not be any clearer. Politico may call her “stubborn,” but she has been crystal clear on what she wants for herself and for Arizona:

I have already told the White House what I am willing to do and what I’m not willing to do. I’m not mysterious. It’s not that I can’t make up my mind. I communicated it to them in detail. They just don’t like what they’re hearing.

In the Capitol, a journalist from NBC News stopped Sinema and scolded her: “What do you say to progressives who are frustrated they don’t know where you are?”

“I’m in the Senate.”

“There are progressives in the Senate that are also frustrated they don’t know where you are either.”

“I’m clearly right in front of the elevator.”

I can’t figure her out either. Is she a rational liberal or a loony tunes progressive and she’s just been hiding that side of herself? I didn’t vote for her in the HOR or the Senate, but she’s been a pleasant surprise in some areas. Her staff is also very attentive to her constituents, which is another plus.

I think rational liberal is probably a pretty good description. She is certainly no conservative, but she also doesn’t pander to the left, and she definitely seems like someone who does not like to be bullied.

MY college roomy dated Kyrsten and said she is smart as a whip and thinks she wants to be president. He said she was hot but talks too much. But he frankly isn’t much of a conversationalist.

Huh? Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz were Gen X before it was cool.

Kyrsten will be lauded as a hero on the left once the Republicans take over and they still have tools to fight with. It’ll be like the criticism never happened…

She might be a Liberal who happens to be a Patriot. Kind of like Joseph Lieberman from Connecticut. The closest example I can think of.

She’s John McCain in a skirt. I’m just glad she’s on their side.

Perfect answers to give to “journalists”.

I don’t think she’s the vicious backstabber that McCain was. McCain really had a vindictive mean streak. Really unlikable and untrustworthy.

Interesting. I have to think that the overall conservative culture associated with BYU may have had some influence on her even if she disassociated herself from that world.

Vindictive, petty, and he never forgave or forgot any perceived snub or dis.

I would put JFK in that category. Naval officer, tax-cutter, anti-communist.

Don’t care if she’s the man in the moon, as long as she keeps poking Brandon in the eye I’m rooting for her.

“she is smart as a whip and thinks she wants to be president.”

I agree. And that’s why she is making the decisions she’s making. She knows a lib whack job has no chance, so is toning it down.

I believe Kyrsten is a hard core Commie trying to get votes since DNC cheating might be lessened next election.

She’s happy. On any given Saturday nite she can double her chances. Works that way in the uniparty.

We won’t be able to challenge her in a forceful way. It will make the conservatives look bad. It will have to be done with a woman who walks the fence with a harder edge than McSally.

She’ll lean more left when the GOP takes over the senate. No need to hide.
