NPR slammed for calling Boston’s first female, Asian American mayor ‘a disappointment’

NPR is being accused of racism for calling Boston’s groundbreaking election of its first woman and first Asian American mayor a “disappointment” because she’s not black.

An online article and now-deleted tweet promoting the story both noted that Michelle Wu made history as “the first woman and first person of color elected to lead” the Massachusetts city — before then suggesting her victory wasn’t enough.

“While many are hailing it as a major turning point, others see it as more of a disappointment that the three Black candidates in the race couldn’t even come close,” the story still reads early Wednesday.

Some minorities are more equal than others or maybe the black candidates split the black vote.

40 years after I first heard about a move to defund state-run media NPR, and the GOP still has done nothing.

It’s a good example of how some people are simply demented on the subject of race. Doesn’t matter what the context, all they see is skin color.

It was a very bad sign that when the Republicans controlled the Presidency and the entire Congress, PBS was not defunded and dismantled.

National Propaganda Radio (NPR) knows their audience and that American Asians overall don't donate to Communist propaganda outlets like NPR. NPR is also fully aware they can pull in donations from racist white urban Democrats by attacking Asians.

NPR needs to be continuously called on the carpet for their anti-Asian attacks.

"...others see it as more of a disappointment that the three Black candidates in the race couldn’t even come close,..."

Perhaps the voters simply didn't want a black in that position after seeing how anything they do wrong is excused and alibied. Personally I believe this whole blm thing has set back relations between the blacks and others to where they were in the 50's

We cannot accept a racist organization from getting federal tax dollars. NPR should be defunded at once!

Unfortunately, the GOP backs down from calls to defund public broadcasting.

And ridiculous things are said and done. For example, Mitt Rommey wanted to defund NPR and PBS. The liberals attacked him saying he wanted to kill off Big Bird. Then Romney was on the defensive saying he loves Big Bird.

So in the public presentation of the issue, the liberals made it an issue of evil Republicans wanting to kill Big Bird. The actual legitimate issue of funding that organization was overwhelmed by Romney on defense saying he loves Big Bird.

Reminds me of Tammy Bruce saying that back in the 1970s and ‘80s when she worked at NOW’s office in Los Angeles, she heard far more racist or sexist or homophobic remarks from self professed liberal Democrats than conservatives and Republicans.

Please remember that every single media outlet in the world began screaming how the Republicans were killing Big Bird. It didn’t matter about any other facts concerning NPR, the execution of Big Bird was the point of every story.

Now that Big Bird is pushing vaxx, maybe it won’t be so hard to cut NPR the next time.

“others see it as more of a disappointment that the three Black candidates in the race couldn’t even come close”

Next time, don’t split the vote. Politics 101.

From experience, every time your try and pressure your congresscritter to do something a well-organized army of “Culture Karens” come out of the woodwork and overwhelm you ! Your basic congresscritter then collapses into a blob of quviering jello. Even if they acknowledge that the "Karens" are demanding that taxpayers fund the "Karens" personal hobbies and interests.

Given the level of “cultural choice” broadcast via cable and streaming services NPR is an anachronism to delivering “culture”. (Truth is is, it now does very little of that! If it ever did !)

Asians are way too smart and hard-working.

It is impossible to have “equity” while they are loose upon the land.

Remember a few months ago when the left was all up in arms over "Asian Hate Crimes"?

Then they saw that it was all black people beating up Asians.

And now NPR is a leading proponent of hating Asians.

Funny how fascism works. Well, except for the targets of fascist un-personing.
