Robert Barnes was involved in the beginning, and even helped set up a fund for Kyle's defense, and called in a bunch of favors to get experts on Kyle's team.
I forget exactly whom, but an uncle, or cousin, or somebody took over the fund, started calling the shots, fired the first lawyers, and Barnes walked away from(or was asked to leave) the defense.
I listen to a little of Viva/Barnes on YouTube, but I don't subscribe to their Locals channel so I don't get a whole lot of the inside baseball.
Barnes was very upset that his advice, and his work done out of his own pocket on surveying the Kenosha jury pool, went unheeded by the current defense team when it came to jury selection.
Had Barnes' jury been seated, we wouldn't be waiting this long for a verdict.
Well, that’s really sad for Kyle. It almost sounds as if a family member saw all those dollar signs and took advantage of it. What a shame, because I’m sure Barnes would be really reluctant to go back.
