I always try to remember that when other drivers do things to get me upset. When I make driving mistakes (and I do) I want to be forgiven, so obviously I need to forgive others' mistakes.
I recall about 15 years ago while driving on the 60 Day into downtown LA, some chollo gangbanger was following me. Very irate. Giving me the finger and screaming his ass off. I changed lanes and rolled down the window because I couldn’t figure out WTF his problem was. The gist of it was he mistakes me for somebody that cut him off the day before and was going to F’ me up when I pulled over. I just smiled, pulled out my cell phone camera and video taped him. Then I slammed on my brakes to get behind him and took video of his license plate all while he continues to loose his mind. I made sure he was watching me in his rearview mirror while I called the CHP. By the sudden expression on his face he must have finally realized what I was doing because he had that undeniable look of fear and panic. He knew he was busted and couldn’t get away due to traffic and the nearest exit was another 1.5 miles. A CHP motorcycle cop and a patrol car used the emergency Lane to get past traffic and pull him over. The look on his face was priceless. He went from 100% badass to 100% pussy instantly.
Suffice to say, the CHP advised me later that he was a recently patrolled gangbanger and meth addict that had been berating drivers on the freeway for the past few days due to meth.
Most people are too rattled to think clearly and use their cell phone when confronted with road race. Keep your hands free phone on at all times and just call the cops.
